Nick Pignotti and Todd Prather recently launched Pray Tell Pigtures, an organization that isn't quite a nonprofit but has roots in producing video projects for their church. As word spread about their work, more opportunities came their way, including a collaboration with the EnVision Center. Pray Tell Pigtures has been hired to create a video for the upcoming Festival of Trees fundraiser in December.
The organization formed organically from Nick and Todd’s shared background in film and their mutual love for working together.
“We just decided to see what would happen if we started saying 'yes' to jobs,” Todd explains.
It certainly helps that film production is a pretty fun gig! So far, they’ve worked on everything from promotional videos to commercials and more. The name Pray Tell Pigtures came to Todd in a flash of inspiration—a playful blend of their last names: "Pra(y)" for Prather and "Pigtures" for Pignotti. But beyond the wordplay, the name captures their mission: making high-quality video production accessible to churches and nonprofits, because, as they see it, video is a must in today’s digital landscape.
"If you want to sell something or convey a message, you have to do it through video," says Todd. "There’s only so much you can achieve with stock footage or even AI."
Todd and Nick are passionate about helping nonprofits create libraries of content they can reuse and edit as needed. When working with the EnVision Center, they recognized that the video they’re producing for the Festival of Trees doesn’t have to be a one-time use. By pulling clips and segments, the video can be repurposed for additional social media content, and Pray Tell Pigtures is here to make that happen.
The big dream for Pray Tell Pigtures is to turn it into their full-time gig. Todd and Nick would love to leave their day jobs and focus exclusively on helping nonprofits meet their video needs. They even envision partnering with the EnVision Center as a local resource to help nonprofits boost their marketing and advertising efforts. This aligns perfectly with the EnVision Center’s mission to be a hub that drives nonprofit growth and success under one roof.
"There are so many nonprofits here, and while competition is inevitable, if we can shift from competing to collaborating and strategizing creatively, that’s a game changer," says Nick.
With Bonner County home to
three times the average number of nonprofits per capita, competition is inevitable. Resources are limited—whether it's airtime, funding, volunteers, or board members. But Nick and Todd hope to be a force that elevates all nonprofits, not just one over the other. For instance, if one nonprofit can’t afford a full day of filming, they could team up with another to share the cost, ensuring everyone gets the video content they need.
“We want to help nonprofits punch above their weight class,” says Nick. “We want them to have digital content that looks like they spent $25,000, even though they didn’t.”
And trust us, Nick and Todd are putting in the work at a fraction of what they're worth. We're excited to see the incredible results they’ll produce.
