A place to host.

A place to unite.

A future to build.

A bold vision for Bonner County.

The Hub is a vision for shared community infrastructure—a place where nonprofits, businesses, workforce partners, entrepreneurs and neighbors can work, connect, create and grow together.

EXPLORE THE VISION

Why the hub

Bonner County has an abundance of people doing good work.

We are solving many
of the same problems
– separately.

DUPLICATED
INFRASTRUCTURE

Organizations independently pay for offices, meeting rooms, technology, equipment, administrative support and other resources that could potentially be shared.

COMPETING FOR
THE SAME DOLLARS

Organizations often turn to the same donors and funders—not only to deliver their missions, but to maintain the infrastructure required to do it.

FRAGMENTED
ACCESS

People navigate organizations, services and opportunities scattered across the community rather than finding connection through a coordinated ecosystem.

OUR GREATEST STRENGTH MAY ALSO BE OUR GREATEST OPPORTUNITY.

Did you know Bonner County has 3x the
national average of nonprofits per capita?

Bonner County's extraordinary nonprofit sector is a reflection of who we are: people see a need and step forward to meet it.

But every organization also needs space, technology, administration, fundraising, meeting rooms and infrastructure.

What if we could preserve the independence and passion of those organizations while sharing more of what happens behind the scenes?

What if we invested once and multiplied the impact?

Instead of continually investing in separate infrastructure, what could become possible if we invested in the ecosystem itself?

THIS ISN'T JUST AN IDEA.

We’re Already Building the Model.

  • 14,300 SF
  • 35 nonprofit + for-profit partners
  • Shared meeting spaces
  • Shared technology + resources
  • Cross-organizational collaboration

What began organically has shown us what happens when organizations stop simply working near one another and begin working with one another.

PROVEN BEYOND BONNER COUNTY

We’re Not Alone in This Thinking.

  • Together Center — Redmond, WA
    nonprofit + human services campus

  • Community Building — Spokane, WA
    mission-driven organizations + community

  • Innovation Den — Coeur d'Alene, ID
    entrepreneurship + economic development

  • Lake Isabella Community Hub — Lake Isabella, CA
    rural community + economic-development hub

The question isn't whether the model can work.

It's what becomes possible when we scale it.

the opportunity is already here.

We don't need to build it.

We need to activate it.

This isn't a rendering of something we hope to build someday.

This is the old Cold Water Creek Campus—a 12 acre campus with a 220,000-square-foot building and 16,000 square-foot warehouse already standing in Bonner County, with offices, gathering spaces, flex space, parking, infrastructure and room to grow.

CREC already occupies and operates approximately 14,300 square feet here.

The opportunity before us is to take what is already working inside our walls and imagine it across the campus.

Many missions. One shared ecosystem.

Not every organization needs to move. Not every service needs a permanent office. The opportunity is to ask a bigger question: which spaces, services and infrastructure could we share—and what could each organization do with the resources that frees up?
