Katie Begalke

Katie Begalke moved to Sandpoint in 2017 from Sheboygan Wisconsin after a four year stint in Seattle. It was a series of unfortunate events that brought her here. But, what was waiting for her, was refuge and restoration in our beautiful four season setting and the welcoming embrace of this loving community. 

Katie is an absolute people person. She lights up whenever she meets a new face, has the opportunity to discuss a new idea, or at the sight of a challenge. She holds a degree in Graphic Communication and Commercial Art from Carroll University, in Waukesha Wisconsin. Her incredible ten year career as an Art Director at the Kohler Company emboldened her to try her hand as a Freelance Graphic Designer, which she continues to do for clients across the nation.

In 2019, Katie incorporated Return Retreats, a 501(c)(3), whose mission is to rescue and restore women through a variety of respite and retreat opportunities. Starting a nonprofit set her on a path which she would not turn back from. It led to Leadership Sandpoint, a relationship with Executive Director Linnis Jellinek, a six-month position at Priest River Ministries, and a profound love for this community. Katie is thrilled to use her God-given talents as the Executive Director for CREC.
